This video is a good tool to learn "what" Cultivating Generous Congregations (CGC) is all about. Viewing this video to invite to the April 2023 offering the ELCA Stewardship Team gathered with a cohort of 12 congregations and their leaders. Together they learned about cultivating God's generosity in a post-Covid church.
CGC is presented via an online learning platform--called "Pathwright---developed by the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving. Learners gather on Zoom for four 90 minute sessions (Oct 22, Oct 29, Nov 12 and Nov 19) to do "synchronous" learning. Between sessions, and for one year following the final session, participants have access through "Pathwright" to the full content of CGC including the four "recorded sessions" and videos, readings and other resources or asynchronous learning.
Although the Video gives details on "cost and content" it should be noted that for our Fall 2024 sessions the cost is $350 and includes one CGC resource book. A congregation MAY order additional CGC books if so desired ($25/ea). Use the email addresses at the end of the video to receive the "registration link".
It should be noted that the Thrivent Action Grant ($250) mentioned in the video MAY be applied for by the congregation. However, the "gift card" may NOT be used for payment to the ELCA when it is time for payment. …...more
